The hackathon is an invite-only event. If you believe that you are a suitable candidate, please complete the registration form and our team will evaluate your candidacy.
The hackathon invitation is aimed at frontend, backend and full stack software developers, ideally at an intermediate or advanced levels of proficiency in either Java, C++, React, or Python.
No, participants are required to be proficient in at least one of the four targeted coding languages i.e., Java, C++, React, or Python.
No, although hackathon challenges will be banking-related, no prior experience is required to participate.
No, full-time students are not eligible to participate in the hackathon.
All participants should be above 18 years of age.
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to form their own teams (maximum of 3 per team) with other hackathon participants or take part as standalone individuals.
No, all participants are required to perform all coding activities from the Nedbank premises.
Yes, the hackathon challenge runs from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning, where demos will be evaluated to determine the prize winners.
All participant teams will demo their solutions as part of the hackathon evaluation process. Once hackathon winners are announced, select participants will be invited to take part in hiring interviews, should they so choose.
Participants will be allowed to work on the hackathon challenge from Friday evening until the cut-off time on Saturday morning.
All participants are expected to bring their own devices which may be required to complete the hackathon challenge (e.g., laptop, charger, mouse, mobile devices and/or optional external monitors).
Nedbank will provide all participants with internet access through Nedbank Wi-Fi, as well as relevant Nedbank platforms/environment provisioning needed to complete the challenge.
Yes, catering will be available throughout the hackathon. Please indicate any of your dietary requirements on the registration form.
Yes, all parking information will be shared with you in your invitation emails.
Yes, participants will be permitted to exit and return to the premises as needed during the hackathon.
Yes, reasonable security measures will be taken to protect your equipment e.g., storage lockers will be made available.
